Safety Policy     Safety Rules      Certification

SAFETY RULES FOR ALL EMPLOYEES

The company must comply with the Federal Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and you, as an employee, are charged with obeying the law also. The following basic safety rules must be obeyed while working for our organization:

    - Report all unsafe conditions and acts to your foreman immediately.
    - Report all injuries including those of minor nature.
    - Hard hats must be worn on all jobs.
    - Horseplay or unsafe acts will be grounds for dismissal.
    - Lift correctly - use your legs to take the strain, not your back.
    - wear appropriate clothes including work shoes and gloves.
    - No loose clothes or dangling jewelry allowed.
    - Safety glasses required when using saws, grinders, hammers and chisels.
    - No one other than the operator shall ride on any tractor or other moving equipment Unless authorized to do so.
    - Anyone operating a forklift must be certified by passing the forklift safety and maintenance test.
    - All cutting of concrete materials must be done using a wet saw. If a wet saw is not applicable then it must be done in a controlled environment using a respirator.
    - All engines must be shut off when re-fueling.
    - No smoking in areas so posted.
    - Hand tools (hammers & chisels) shall be kept well dressed.
    - Electrical power tools must be grounded, with guards in place.
    - Only authorized and properly instructed employees shall operate machinery, equipment and tools.
    - Good housekeeping is required.
    - Everyone must help with clean-up work.
    - Think safety at all times.

Failure to comply with all safety rules may result in the following:

  1. Written notice.
  2. Time off work without pay.
  3. Termination.
