SAFETY POLICY
IT IS THE POLICEY OF THIS COMPANY TO PROVIDE A HEALTHY AND SAFE PLACE
OF EMPLOYMENT FOR ALL EMPLOYEES AND TO ABIDE BY ALL OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY
AND HEALTH REGULATIONS AS THEY PERTAIN TO OUR INDUSTRY.
- OBJECTIVE
It is the management’s objective for the benefit of our employees and all
others to prevent loss of life, limb and property by having all work planned
and carried out safely so that no accidents will occur.
COMPANY ACCIDENT PREVENTION POLICY
- Responsibility and authority for the action necessary to prevent accidents rests
with the foreman as part of his/her job. The management of JAC Masonry, Inc. will
provide leadership and encouragement for preventing accidents to the first level
foreman and thru him/her to the employees.
- Accidents are errors which will be considered as a measure of job performance for
individuals or group.
ACTION REQUIRED
- All employees must know, accept and apply the company’s safety policy.
- LEARN the safe way to do your job before you start.
- FOLLOW instructions, don’t take chances, if you don’t know, ask.
- USE the right tools for the job and use them safely.
- INSPECT tools and equipment for safe condition.
- USE equipment only when authorized.
- ADVISE your foreman of any unsafe condition.
- KEEP construction site clean and orderly.
- Foreman must know and apply the Company’s accident prevention policy and
establish the same knowledge, acceptance and application among the people
they supervise. The foreman’s planning, assigning and control of work should
include these specific activities which will help prevent accidents:
- OBSERVE work methods and habits continually and take corrective action or praise as appropriate in all cases.
- CORRECT unsafe conditions before accidents occur.
- HOLD semi-monthly meetings.
- SET good habit and attitude examples.
- REPORT all violations to company management.
- INVESTIGATE all accidents for cause and take action for future prevention.
IMPLEMENTATION
Help will be provided to members by management.
They can assist in planning and carrying out many activities for accident prevention,
but care must be exercised to point out that they cannot replace a foreman’s responsibility
for accident prevention.
